Hi FancyAppy:

Their names are Nellie (sitting on the left), and Shadow (sitting on the right). They are "biological" sisters from the same litter. Mom and Dad had 10 pups and we couldn't just walk away with one! lol They'll turn 6 years old on April 15th.

Thanks for your nice comments!

Okay, I'll agree with you...they ARE very pretty girls! Sure, I'd love to be able to come and teach your tenant how to get his two shepherds to behave well like Nellie and Shadow. I've trained alot of dogs in my life and the dedication, time, repeitition, praise you put into it, yields results that make your pet totoally and completely pleasureable for the rest of their and your lives!!

Cheers!

I had a series of books as a kid, actually they were my dad's from when he was little!! The main characters were Boy, a GSD; and Buster, a black house cat. They were the best behaved, smartest animals around, and the funny thing was, the author was actually describing animals she had/knew. Boy was owned by a little girl, and Buster belonged to a little boy.

I always wanted a GSD as a result of those books but never got one ( yet )

Aww, thank you KimandAutumn...being the proud MOM that I am, I will tell you that we gets lots of comments about "my girls'. When hubby is driving in the city with both of them, every traffic light he stops at, people will look over and do a double-take and then hold up two fingers at him! Hubby just smiles and nods his head "yes, two!"

Funny you should mention their ears. Last night a friend of our son's was visiting, he kept running his thumb and fingers up Nellie's ears. She loved it of course, but the young fellow kept saying: "Their ears are so cool!" lol

Yes, as you've discovered, they are biological sisters! I always think it's nice if someone can keep at least 2 of an original litter together and I made sure WE were those "someones". lol

However, just like human sisters, they are alike in many ways but also starkly different in others. Nellie (on the left) firmly believes ANYONE who comes to our home has come here for the sole purpose of seeing HER and must spend their entire visit patting HER! Shadow greets you at the door, wiggles her bum, gets her one pat, then goes and lays down with a look of: "No, no..don't pat me, just pat my sister!" lol

Well then Sarah, I think you should start looking for a reputable breeder and get yourself a GSD!!!! Now wouldn't THAT be nice to compliment your pet family? lol
