Neapolitan Mastiff

Hi,
Please help us. We currently own a beautiful blue Neo (11 months). She is beautiful. Unfortunately, life has some unexpected changes for us which forces us to have to find a good (very good home) for her. This parting is breaking us up.

Yes exactly where are you? Is she spayed and how big is she so far. I have a few places that might be able to place her in a good home. If someone named Jenn Ocpnnor or Stacey Hanson contact you please let me know and do not under any circumstances release her to this woman. She might use other aliases. If you would like you can PM me and I will explain we all know the story of her so dont want to rehash it. How is she with male other dogs. I have a OEM but my last guy was a Neo. She might be good with my boy.

I hear (from the people here) that they are great dogs. I might be interested, but I guess it depends on where you live!

Rachel they are great dogs but I suggest you do some reading about them. If you are a clean freak this is not the dog for you they do drool a lot some less then others but they can be big droolers. We call them slingers cuz they fly when they start shaking their heads. Read some of this stuff on them they are a giant breed but they do not require a huge place to live.

This is a excellent kennel and great info and dogs on her site.

Why haven't you contacted the breeder? If they are reputable, they would insist on getting this dog back.

She was a rehome to Gorilla and we are checking on a couple of possibilities. I would love to take her but I just don't know if we will all fit in my place, but do have a couple of hopefuls for this girl. Gorilla wants to be very picky as to where she goes she does not want her shuffled around anymore. I spoke with her yesterday and wants to make this as easy a transition as possible she is heartbroken about having to do this but as she explained her family situation has changed drastically. She will keep her until she finds a forever home no rescues or shelters or fosters for her.

I know it is so sad and neo's are very prone to seperation anxiety.

I agree with LR.I would get in contact with the breeder. That is if this dog came from a licenced breeder.

Gorilla, I saw a posting in montreal with phone numbers to call for this dog. I think it is this dog anyway. The telephone numbers had all been torn off so I was unable to get the number.

Is this the dog that you are asking $ 600.00 for? It looks exactly like her. Here in Montreal

Shyla

Shyla will be adopted through Foxy's Canine Companions. I also heard about the dog for sale that is similar to Shyla. She has already been purchased and they are not the same dogs. We too were confused about it until we spoke with Gorilla and verified that Shyla was not the dog. I visited her today and she is a wonderful dog. Thank you.

ACK! Neos being bought and dumped. I wish people would NOT get a dog just because it's the "latest thing" then ditching them when they realize that they had no idea what they were getting into.

The thought of a bunch of badly bred Neos being peddled is truly frightening.

I can only imagine what it does to their temperaments to be bounced around to multiple homes before the age of even ONE year old.

First year of a dogs life

I don`t think Lucky was trying to be mean, but I do think that a very important point was made regarding dogs. I am a firm believer that the kind of dog you end up with has a lot to do with what happens to them in their first year of life. I feel so sorry for this neo......... she is just gorgeous and must be so confused, ( she must be thinking why doesn`t anyone want me?)
I won`t judge her owners for trying to find a new home for her as we all know that sometimes life deals us with a real crappy hand and we have to do what we have to do, I just feel so sorry for that pup. To be going to her third home before she is a year old and not knowing if she will stay there must be awful for her. I hope that she can find a forever home, and finally be able to relax and grow into the dog she was destined to be.
If she was originally purchased from a breeder I would be very surprized if the original breeder would not want her back, I can`t imagine the breeder wanting what has happened to her to continue.
Large breed dogs are not for everyone and maybe she needs someone who understands exactly what they are getting into.

I wish we didn`t live so far away, I have a large home and I am sure she would fit right in here, we have room for one baby grand piano now ( namely our Dogue ... Angel). Hubby may not want another mastiff right now though, he has enough trouble when angel wants to be his lap dog.

Shyla

Shyla did not appear to be confused or distressed. She is currently living in her first home after being weaned. Circumstances changed for the adoptive family that her owners had selected and they gladly took her back until such time as an appropriate home can be found for her. She will be adopted by a family who knows and appreciates the magnificent dog that she is. It is at the descretion of the owner as to whom she chooses to ask for assistance in this matter. We do not question her motives, she does love Shyla and has only her best interest at heart. Please try to bear this in mind when making comments about Shyla or her current owners. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

NO! Of course not! You didn't breed or buy these dogs and you aren't dumping them are you? You are trying to get them permanent and responsible homes.

My comments were just a general rant.

I think with the number of dogs being dumped, my mind is becoming a bit mushy. I have to read things about 5 times before I can make head or tail of them and usually one read and I have it. Thanks LR for clarifying.

I think that someone should check out this breeder. As their are two Mastiffs of the same age, colour and sex currently looking for a new home. It would not surprise me if they are even from the same litter. There is one being posted around town and the one that foxy's is taking.

This has to raise a few eye brows and I am sure that the breeder will want to know.
