Favorite Places to take your dog in the Montreal Area

Hello all!

We're always looking for new places to take the dogs on evenings or weekends where they can run off leash. Its really hard in the city. We usually go to dog parks as they are readily accessible but prefer walking trails, or large fields where we can play ball with Nelly or everyone can just run. We somtimes go to Angel Woods in Beaconsfield, but it is super buggy in summer, we also go to Summit Circle in Westmount, but it is on leash only until June 15, as its nesting season. So if you live in the Montreal area, where do you take your dogs?

There is a nice field behind the school at Royal and Somerled in NDG, usually people go with dogs early in the morning, after 6 in the evenings, or weekends all day, but there are soccer games there that means running dogs is off limits.

You might find some great ideas here (I think you have to register to be a member though) http://www.sortiedechien.com/accueil .

We've recently discovered seldom used atv trails as a good place to walk/run/play with our dogs.

Some training facilities also offer access to their grounds for a small fee (per usage/monthly/seasonally) so that could be something that interests you as well.

Yeah we go there sometimes.... Its really nice, but you run the risk of there being a soccer tournement on when you arrive!
