Kitten food

Hi All!

We are getting a bluepoint ragdoll kitten in 2 weeks. I will be feeding him the food the breeder has been feeding at first, but have been trying to research a good quality food for him. I know many do not think kibble is what is best and favour canned. I am open to both and will probably feed both (at one time or another). I was just wondering what food would you recommend?

Thanks!

I feed my gang Innova EVO cat & kitten, and regular Innova cat & kitten.

I hope you post some pictures when you get your kitty.

I feed Nature's Variety Instinct grain-free canned

http://www.naturesvariety.com/instinct_cat_can

and supplement with Go! Natural Chicken, Turkey & Duck grain-free dry

http://www.petcurean.com/index.php?page_id=153

The Go! is formulated for all life stages and can be fed to kittens....I think the Instinct can be too, but not sure on that.

Congrats on your new kitten! I also must demand some pics when he comes.

As for diet, no need to feed specifically kitten food. Good quality (no by-products) canned food, preferably with little to no grains, would be best (Wellness, Nature's Variety, Innova, By Nature etc). For the dry, I wouldn't feed any. There is nothing about it that suits the needs of a feline and it's only purpose is human convenience (and big profits to pet food companies). Your little ragdoll would be much better off without any kibble in his life. What about a raw diet? That would really be the ultimate. www.catinfo.org

Forget the kibble, your kitty will be much better off without it.

All the mentioned brands are very good. My personal choice is Instinct by Nature's Variety. Other favs are Wellness, grain free and Organics by Nature.

Have you considered a raw diet?
