Please keep my neice in your thoughts and prayers

Please keep my little neice Faith in your thoughts and prayers. She is in the hospital now. They are putting a catheter in her heart to check the pressure of her heart and lungs. They will also be stopping her heart to check for another possible defect so they are fully prepared for the actual surgery on Thursday. She just turned 4 and is such a sweet little girl. If you want to see her, this is a very sweet video of her:

Thanks all

Oh my goodness Robyn, how scary for everyone. Your neice and her parents and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that she comes through this well and the Drs are able to fix her up. I haven't watched the video yet, but will do that.

She is the ultimate in sweetness - Faith stay strong once again - your family and friends are all praying for you. It just brings tears to my eyes that such little children have to face such huge obstacles.

Thank you all
She came through the procedure with flying colors! They let the family take her to the hotel and told them to have a fun day with her tomorrow, so they're taking her to the zoo, then Chuck E Cheese again

She goes back on Thursday for the open heart surgery. This "should" hold her over until she's old enough for a transplant. They think that will be when she's around 18 or so. She's such a precious little soul

Thank you all for the 'ers and , they're needed, and appreciated by us all

They took her in for surgery at about 8:30 this morning, so it's just a waiting game right now. They said it would be about 3 1/2-4 hours, so we've got awhile to go.

Robyn, she's a little angel and I hope this op. is it till she's older. My great niece is a heart child too and sadly has had so many surgeries that now she cries when they tell her she has to go to hospital. You can never feel depressed as an adult about anything that ails you when you stop to consider these poor little kiddies.

GF you certainly have that right. Hard to feel bad for myself over a headache when I look at little Faith. I so don't know the meaning of pain. Robyn I'll say an extra prayer for Faith this morning, and bless her surgeons on this important day.

GF and DD, thank you both! And yes, something like this does make you realize how extremely fortunate most of us are. She's such a little doll.

She just came out of surgery, is in recovery now and doing well!!!! Thanks for all the good vibes and prayers... they worked!!

How old is your great neice, GF? Poor little thing. Is she a candidate for a transplant? They said for Faith, this should be the last surgery she needs until she is fully grown and can have a transplant, around 18 yrs old.

Shanise is now 12, Robyn, and my sister said that they don't talk about the hospital stays now, it upsets her too much. She has had a lot of ear trouble too because narrowing of the arteries seems to go with narrowing of tubes also, and that has meant operations and a lot of pain. They haven't put a time on it but something will have to be done because as she ages those arteries have to stretch , maybe they won't so well.? They look after heart kids so well here, she once had an accident, got cut on some glass, and they sent not one but two ambulances.
So pleased that Faith is now on the road to recovery after her op.. Dear little pet. She'll be an inspiration to me after my knee is done, I shall remind myself that Faith went through worse.

Poor little thing. Hopefully Faith won't have to go through all of that. They said this should hold her over until she's fully grown, around 18 or so. Then she will have a transplant. I will make sure and say a prayer for your great neice. Have they said if she is a good candidate for a transplant?

Thanks all

She's actually doing awesome! They said she'd be at least a week in the hospital, maybe longer. But that was before the surgery. They're saying today, she may be able to go home as early as Monday. They really praised her for her cheerfulness and good heart through it all. I'm sure that's one reason she's doing so well

Thank you all again for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers, it made a difference!
