Real world pet loss support group in Montreal?

Hi members,

A close friend of mine is having an extremely hard time after his dog of 16 years passed away a few days ago. He is looking for a real life support group (In Montreal - preferably near downtownish area) for people who have lost their pets. Does anyone know if one exists?

Thx in advance

I don't know but friends took their daughter, who was 16 when the family dog died, to a child psychologist to help her with the grieving process. She just was not getting over it. I wonder if similar help is available? Would grief support groups for loss of human loved ones accept a person mourning a pet? Or maybe see the person privately?

I'm so sorry for your friend but don't know of any pet loss support groups.
I'm certain counselling or therapy is available for any type of loss. Most if not all employment insurance plans cover some or all of the fees charged by these professionals. I wish your friend the best in healing his heart.
It's been 6 months since I lost Billy and I still have bad days
