Awww, what a beautiful silver colour.

Just curious, are there any livestock in your area? Could it be possible that he got kicked by a cow or horse or sheep?

Just saw this thread and wanted to express my relief!!! I am not happy someone hurt your cat but thrilled he survived thx to you!!! I can understand your concern about meds- it is never good to give meds to a cat - I am a doctor (for humans, lol) and I would never administer meds to my pets without contacting my vet first!! And she knows my cats. No one here nor you could even diagnose what had happened so your poor kitty had a bad night but hopefully he will recuperate and the pain meds he is receiving now will help him.

Sending out good thoughts from an Irish Canadian who has done some work at Trinity College - far fro where you are I know but then again, the country is about the same size as my native province of New Brunswick interestingly enough. (hold duel citizenship actually) tho in the Republic but sure, aren't we all Irish, lol

He's a beautiful kitty. I just love his fluffy gray fur. He's got the luck of the Irish on his side now that he's with you.

I'm so happy to hear cuddles was OK under your watchful eye and in your caring hands until you could get him to a vet. I totally know the anguish you must have been feeling (I live a 3 hour drive from the nearest vet and i've been stuck at home with a sick dog and had the highway closed, a total nightmare!).

I sure hope you stay and hang out on the site. The people here have been incredibly supportive to me and helpful with caring advice and i've so appreciated it when i've been far from vet care.

Whew! I am so glad to hear that he will be ok... but so saddened to hear that it may have been human inflicted! Maybe this would be a good time to transition to a safer indoor lifestyle... I know over there it is pretty common to let cats roam, but clearly that's not the safest thing to do anymore with all these creeps, weirdos and psychos nowadays.

I am really really happy that he'll be ok... and hope you stick around and share some more pics with us... he's so handsome!!

Yes, I think we all agree with you, Deda Brada, but members of this forum should not be the ones to recommend meds unless we are in the profession.

hes a handsome one.. .although feeling a little sorry for himself.

its a cruel world... my aunts dog used to wander and once we found him at the end of the street with a hole in his head (the vet simply said he assumed someone hit him with something hard and sharp) ... its a cruel world and well i'll never understand people like that .

I'm glad Cuddles pulled through the night. He's a lucky kitty to have someone there to keep him warm and comforted.

Hope his recovery is speedy.

Please don't grasp me wrong, but I know about medications used in cats much more than my local vet does, although he is "in the profession". That's why I travel over 50 miles to Belgrade whenever some of my cats is ill. What would you say if your vet administered gentamicin to your pet sick from tonsillitis, though it is well known that the main causer of tonsillitis is virus, the second is streptococcus pyogenes, Gram-positive bacterium (on which gentamicin has trashy effect)? Or when he administered holeretic menbutone, which must not be used in cats, almost killing poor creature?! Ask your vet about it.

Knowing nothing is the privilege of those people who have everything.

Michael, I'm so glad Cuddles is okay. You were very brave for him, and it must have been so hard for you to play the waiting game overnight. Cuddles is such a handsome cat...keep him close to home!

Your kitten is adorable
I'm glad you got a diagnosis - it must have been heartwrenching to wait, but hopefully Cuddles will be on the mend very soon!
And kudos to you for taking this little one in and giving it a chance at a great life!
