Pot bellied pigs temperament

We are thinking of getting a pot bellied pig and I wanted to find out has much as we can before we do.

I've heard they have a sweet temperament, but I have also heard they can be prone to "tantrums". Is this true and are there steps I can take to modify their behaviour?

And what are the most common problems with keeping pot bellied pigs?

I'd appreciate any advice from a personal perspective.

Pot bellied pigs get BIG that's the first thing that comes to mind. Also all pets need a Vet - so do make sure there is an exotics vet not too far away.

Second thing is are you allowed to keep one as a pet? There are plenty of places that have bylaws that simply do not allow them.

So my best advice would be check this out before you get one and bond with it.

They are supposed to be smart affectionate animals.

Here's an article on them in case you are interested.

Good luck!
