Talking Dusty's new game...cats are inscrutable!

Can someone explain this whole phenomenon to me? I mean, other than that cats are just crazy?

Dusty sizes up her next leap...

...then just hangs, twisting slightly in the nonexistent breeze...

It is seriously impressive in one sense, though. If I could leap 4.5 times my height, I'd be reaching 25 feet a leap! But what's the purpose? Cracks me up every time!

Too funny!

And those are two beautiful cats!

My Lady G. used to love to get behind my bedroom door and hide, waiting to play. I'd slowly brush a rolled piece of newspaper across the opening, and she'd launch a paw out after it, shredding the paper to pieces. I'd peek at her behind the door, and she'd be staring at me all crazy looking! She loved to get behind this door and do that. And I knew better than to stick my hand, or fingers at that opening. She was as fast as lightning, and her claws were razor sharp. It's amazing how sharp their claws can get.

And yes, cats can be so silly!

Ya, I get that crazy look from Dusty, too! Big eyes, can't tell if she's surprised, crazy, or just focused!

We're lucky--both JD and Dusty are pretty good about letting me clip their nails. This is a good thing, since Dusty will also launch herself up on our shoulders...or close to the shoulder, anyway, and then she claws her way up the rest of the way! I've taken to wearing long-sleeved shirts all the time...

Hmmm...I don't believe I've ever used newspaper as a toy--will have to give that a try because it does seem like the most excellent shredding texture!

So maybe she's jumping up there because the jackets are blowing in the breeze? We do have a ceiling fan running nearby all year round that does cause some really minute movement...maybe she thinks my coats are alive!! "It's alive; it's alive!" she says in her best Dr. Frankenstein voice
