Different breeds of cats together?

Can different breeds of cats live together? Because some dogs cant. Are cats the same?

When it comes to getting cats to get along, it's more a matter of individual personality and energy level than breed. Some cats are very active and others are lazier. If you have an lazier cat who spends most of the day sleeping, and introduce a cat who wants to spend all day playing, the lazy one is probably going to get pestered to play and as a result become grumpy and swat.

Let's see I have a Manx, a Maine Coon and two mutt cats I did have a British Shorthair but he passed away a few years ago. My Manx is coming up to 12 years old but he still plays with the kitten well she's almost a year. She's helped my Maine Coon become more playful, I don't think he was given much of a chance to play as a kitten, so he's starting to be more silly since she arrived. My other old boy just wacks her and hisses so she pretty much leaves him alone.

I think most cats regardless of breed can eventually get along and live together. They may never become best buddies but they can tolerate each other.

Introducing them properly will go a long way and the younger they are introduced to one another the better.

That said, many cats will never ever get along with other cats, though in my experience they are in the minority.
