BenMax I know how difficult it is to have a beloved pet's outcome in the hands of a rescue .

Gerdy's Rescue is a wonderful rescue who are always in need of funding to help out these poor unfortunate souls.

I am hoping pets.ca members will help them Gerdy (and BenMax and Maddox) with funding his vet bills.

It is safe and simple to do. They use paypal (very safe) and you can add a comment in the comment field if you wish your donation to go to Maddox.

Attached is the link to their home page, then click on the link "donate"

http://www.gerdysrescue.org/

I am hoping we can come through for BenMax as she comes through for the unwanted pets.

I know it's not been easy and will be hard for a while, but I know Maddox has a will to live and he will come through this. He knows how much you love him and wants to be with you.

Thank you so much 14+K . This has been an incredible gift.

Maddox was given his second injection this morning. The Dr. says he is doing extremely well and has had no side effects nor complications. She mentioned that he is such a great boy with a marvelous disposition. She also said he is one of the most trusting and easy boy to work with - no problems, no resistance ..nothing. She now understands why I pulled him, though she reminds me that I seem to always pull the ones in worse shape... (certainly not my intention...but they speak to me).

So thank you so much...all of you. I truly believe that all this great karma is being received and accepted by beautiful Maddox.

I love you all so very much...I mean that!

OMG, that's such wonderful news. Good to hear he's doing so well. When can you finally get to see him? I know they want to keep him calm so a visit from you likely isn't a great idea, but I hope you get to see him soon and give him a big hug for all of us.

I could only do it when L4 posted the addy for us after she made her donation.
I only wish I could have given more to help out Maddox. He is a sweetie. I am so glad to hear he is responding well. It must be all the folks rooting for him - and you.

Thank you CLM. Maddox gets to come home Friday night. I must keep him calm and quiet and then he goes back in next week for follow up. I am not allowed to see him during the week which I understand but it's hard. I don't want him to think I have abandoned him. I just cannot wait to hold him and get him through this.

I think I am having sympathy pains...is that possible? Last night i did not sleep due to stomach pains...sounds ridiculous but true. (am I a headcase or what???).

Benmax that is super news! I have a quick question. If one donates through PAYPAL where do we indicate that it is for Maddox? I know someone mentioned a comments field but I do not see that via PAYPAL?

It may be in the top portion where you put the amount you wish to donate, I can't remember exactly where. It is a small

box.

Whoops, maybe it was on the second screen after you put in your info.

When Duke was away for a week I went through the same thing. I didn't
want him to think he was abandoned but the vet thought it was best we didn't see him because he would get too excited and start jumping around. I also lost sleep and felt sick to my stomach because I missed him and worried about him but once he was better and home that all went away.

Maddox now belongs to the rescue and now Pets and we are all rooting for him. They do not give up and even peaked in on him last night. They called me this morning to tell me that he is a wonderful boy and his spirits are good. I was also told that he was at stage 2 of heartworm. This I did not know.

So I remain his foster mom thankfully and will see him through this. His leg however may have to wait for about 4 months. Unfortunate but he will be on pain killers to ensure that he does not feel the pain itself. He has been living with this pain for some time now but we do not want him to feel anymore discomfort.

One step at a time. It's all good.

I don't know much about Heart-Worm only that it is a serious problem,so,a stupid question...will the injections kill the heart-worm and do they end up in the poop
What is a grade 2 Heart-Worm??

Hello Chico,
The heartworms disintegrate and end up in the blood stream.
One of the most common complications in treatment of heartworm is the damage caused to lung tissue when dead adult heartworms accumulate in the lungs. This complication is serious and is treated with strict restriction of movement.

Does this help?

Tundra - Maybe you could email Gerdy and ask. This is her addy...

info@gerdysrescue.org

For obvious reasons there is no address on the web site. They would have more dogs and cats dropped on their doorsteps than they could handle!!!
