She was ok on the walk... She couldn't wade in the water with the others though (water's not the cleanest....). The walk got her spirits up a little.

Ok... Well, she got her foamy taken off today... What a disaster. My man brought her, and from what the vet tech told me later on, there was a lot of blood and apparently, my man didn't handle it well... She lost a teeny bit of her ear from shaking with the stitches in too much (it was just held on with the blood, so when they took everything off and cleaned it, the little bit fell off... It's not too noticeable, but it really freaked the Mr out.

Anyway, so she's home tentatively... If she shakes, she opens the little tip again and it bleeds quite a bit, so as long as we can keep her from shaking at all, she'll stay home... If not, she goes back to the vet where they can keep an eye on her and fix her up faster.

Oh, owie! Poor Jemma! Well, she'll never miss that little bit...and it won't mar her incredible beauty...just lend her an air of mystery...

Freaked out the man, though, eh? I think that would've freaked me out, too! *wince*

Good luck with the shaking thing! I hope she doesn't have to go back to the vet! Give her some pats from me and some slobbery shnuffles from the Pack.

Did Boo, Pablo and Leila notice that the foam was gone?

Awww the poor girlie, and your poor man I don't think my man would have handled that sort of thing very well either.

Good luck with the shaking Hopefully she won't have to go back to the vet

So far today she hasn't bled. Another couple days without bleeding and she should be healed enough to be able to be herself again... hopefully...

It's so fun to see her ears flapping when she walks though, like they're relaxed for the first time in ages.

That's great news, Prin! for a continued recovery! If her ears look more relaxed, she must be feeling a lot better!

Hooray for flappy ears!

Now Jemma, be a good girl and nooo shaking!

As for ears falling off...well let's just say there was an incident at the shelter once between a large dog and a cocker spaniel, and after the fight was over, one of the cocker's ear was considerably shorter....and guess who found the missing piece on the floor. Yeah. I sympathize with the man.

Thanks Hazel and SableCollie.

lol about the ear though. I mean, Jemma's chunk missing is so teeny. It's kind of like if she had had an earring and it ripped out. You wouldn't really notice it unless you were looking.

Oh and the tewfs already just don't bug Jemma. She's like the cat of the house. She hides too, which sucks, but the tewfs might get adopted this week, so she'll get her house back.

Maybe you can tell people she used to have an earring, and it ripped her ear, and that's why there's a piece missing!

So basically, you're saying your man is a wimp?

No, no, he's not a wimp... He just can't handle blood. And especially his baby girl's blood.

Hazel, it would be together, near Boston. They're having their home check tomorrow.

Boston! that's closer to me than Montreal... Think they'd mind the 8 of us coming to visit the tewfs?

lol Yep! It might be hard to recognize them with their fur grown in. Now they've got really strange fur. The shaved fur is still there, still shaved, but they've got these new fuzzies coming in that are about an inch long now. They're really soft, but the shaved ones are still prickly.

Ooo and they were clean in the house yesterday when they were home alone for 7 hours!! I went home for lunch today to let them out and they were doing ok. So far, here's the tally of casualties:

1 red medium kong
2 large cuzzes
1 medium cuz
2 pairs of socks
several cardboard boxes
several tennis ball toys
2 stuffies

hmm... I think that's it for now.

The drool soaked towels get washed every few days, so they're recycled.

Nothing major has gotten eaten so far (knock on wood). They tend to just go for the obvious. I told my man to leave out the socks they already ripped up as a decoy. They don't eat anything either, btw. They just shred.

Your poor Jemma, Prin! Such a sweet and patient girl, and has really been having such an awful time of it. I hope she continues to heal with no more problems.
Oh you're poor man... that would be a shock for him for sure. I'm not squeamish either for pet things. Poop, puke, hairballs dont faze me in the slightest.
But blood... another story. My own or anyone else's makes me weak at the knees...

for sweet Jemma. No more shaking honey.

Thanks, Shamrock. I've tried explaining to the man that not everybody can handle it, but he doesn't want to talk about it.
