Lost Golden Retreiver in MARKHAM
I Lost my 2 and a half year Old Pure bread Golden Retreiver this morning around 7 AM in the 9th line and 14th area. He is a beautiful neutered male, very friendly. Someone must have left the door slightly open which enabled him to slip out. By the time I woke up around 8:30 he was gone. He is about 65-70 pounds, responds to the name Anbu and unfortunately has no collar. The hair on his tail is really long and looks like a fan. If anyone spots him please call me (Harry) at 416-707-1932. We are all eagerly awaiting his safe arrival.

Frenchy - Markham is not far from me in Ontario.
Contact www.pawanimalservices.ca they handle animal control for Markham. You might also want to check Th Kennel Inn in Aurora. Also keep your eye on the Toronto Animal Services website. Plus posters etc., Good Luck |

I've been trying to post pictures but the files seem to be too big to post them anywhere on the internet. Markham is in Ontario, Greater Toronto Area. Still no word on him, I'm sure he is with someone. Hopefully they return him safe and sound.

you need to crop and resize the pictures to make it smaller. Have you posted any pictures in your neighborhood? That may help.

If you have Windows XP you can try this:
1. right click on picture 2. click on open with and then "paint" 3. click on "image" and then "stretch/skew" 4. change horizontal & vertical from 100% to 50% 5. click ok 6. click on yes to "save changes" Pics can be no more than 100kb.....if they're still too big then you will have to repeat to make smaller but only do it by about 10% at a time. Hope that helps and good luck finding Anbu. |

Harry, if you don't have the "manage attachments" option it's because you are a newbie and aren't allowed to post pics right away. It helps to keep the 's from posting porn pics here. You can send a pm to Marko or one of the mods and they will lift the restiction for you.

This is getting complicated lol, I think I'll have to get a degree in Computer Science before I will be able to figure out how to show you guys my dog on this forum.
Instead I made a Kijiji post (which also doesn't work for some reason). So here is the link to the kijiji post activation page. It displays pics of Anbu http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAd?Me...&AdId=58866144 |

Haven't Posted them yet, but will have them up by tonight. He did run away once before but he stayed in the area. Anbu always comes running when he hears my car alarm go off. I drove all around my area with my alarm going off and still no Anbu. Makes me believe that someone may have him and he is no longer in the area.

Anbu is gorgeous and I hope you locate him soon.
Have you put up posters in your neighbourhood, contacted the vets, spca, pound, etc.? And, be aware of some answering ads on kijiji as a couple of others that have lost pets have gotten the message shown in this thread: http://www.pets.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=53517 |

I Hope we find him soon to. We have decided to offer a $500 reward for his safe return. I am just about to head out and put posters up.

Harry, don't name a sum on the poster, if you must aknowledge you are willing to pay, just say reward offered for return of etc, etc.
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get him, i can't get over how much the first picture looks like my boy, and they're the same age. |

I found him in the classifieds on thestar.com in a city near Walkerton. I got him when he was 6 weeks, he was living with his siblings and like 10 cows lol. I figured putting a sum on the poster would entice whoever has my dog to bring him back. I strongly feel that someone has him in their home. He would never wonder so far away from home.
He was born December 15 2005 |

nope the amount isn't a good thing, some people might think its not enough, some might not have wanted that much. The people that have him may not know how to get intouch with you. Oh my baby is from a breeder in north oakville, dob, may 25th

Put posters all around my area. Your right, the people who have him might want to get in contact with me just as much as I want to get in contact with them but just didn't have my number. We all miss him a lot, feels so weird not having him great us at the door with his toy in his mouth. As the night nears I'm getting more worried, I hope he is in a home and not stuck somewhere outside. I didn't put the reward amount on the poster, Just stated that reward would be given for Anbu's safe arrival.

Nope not yet. Going to put up more posters and speak to all the veterinary clinics in my area. If anyone can give me advice (Places to call, phone numbers, pounds in my area) that would be most helpful. I hope he's okay

Thanks Frenchy and edwpang. I just went to Anbu's vet, they are all really saddened by the news. She gave me about 10 phone number to call (clinics, pounds). So far no one has heard from him. My sister and I both heard Anbu's bark this morning which only further makes me think he is in the area in someone's home. My area is under construction, many of my neighbors haven't moved in yet, and the ones that have I haven't seen with dogs. Anbu was pretty much the only one in my neighborhood. Posters are my best bet I guess.

Thats encouraging if you heard his bark, but nerve wracking too I bet. What about going door to door with pictures and contact information? It may be time consuming, but if you think you heard him, then it may be worth a shot.

Wow, if you are sure it was his bark, I'd be knocking on doors like crazy. Could he be trapped somewhere, in an unfinished stairwell, a shed?

I agree, Harry.....start knocking on all the doors in your neighbourhood and take Anbu's picture with you and ask the construction workers to watch for him. Good luck.

Yes for sure..knock on every door within ear shot...if you can have business card sized pictures made up with the contact information on the back..I find people keep that with them and will call if they see him...much easier for them to have handy in a purse or pocket.
Don't give up hope....What a beauty he is! |

Thanks everybody. My mom went knocking door to door yesterday but no luck. She didn't do all the homes though, so we are going to give that a shot today. My buddy is coming over to help me search, we are planning on going into the construction site (with caution of course). The construction people have met Anbu before his disappearance, he was their source of entertainment while they work. So they are also on the lookout.
Hopefully someone responds to the posters in my area. He is a wonderful dog I hope whoever has him isn't planning on keeping him. |
