Scruff loves his raw meat - whatever I'm cooking for myself, I chop some up for him before it's cooked. Except salmon, that backfired. Literally..eeww. Also won't give him raw pork because of the worm issue.
Gave him a deer leg yesterday and he was in puppy heaven!

Never give your dog raw salmon or tuna...cook them before you give them to your dog.

Here's a url to help you with a raw diet:

http://www.dogaware.com/wdjhomemade2.html

If you are going to go all raw, be sure to transition your dog. Start off with one protein, chicken being the best choice. Buy a whole chicken and give your dog some of the parts each day. Do this for a couple of weeks. Then introduce organ and muscle meats along with chicken parts. After a few weeks you can introduce another meat. If you look at your dog's stool, it should be firm and small. If they are chalky, then you are feeding too much bone. As for bones, if you plan to feed beef, do not give your dog the weight bearing bones as they are too hard and will damage your dog's teeth. Round bones are a choking hazard as well. I give my dog a beef back rib for dinner and she will pull the meat off and then have the bone to chew on for the next couple of days.

anyways, this url should give you lots of info.

my gang has been enjoying a bit more raw in their diet...at least one good feed on the weekend and whatever else I can scrounge up during the week. Last night, they dined on lamb, pork liver and apples
