I HELD ACE THIS MORNING!!!!!!!!!
A couple of weeks ago I managed to start petting him a bit when I put his food down. Before that he would never get close to me unless I had a gizzard in my hand. He had started to not mind the pets although he is still very jumpy. This morning I petted him for a minute then figured what the heck and picked him up! I held him for a minute still petting his head and listened to him purr. Then he looked up, realized how close he was to my face, and wanted down. Success with a six year old feral!! Gotta love it!!!

TQ - Ace was one of the kitties trapped last spring. The vet figured he was five at the time he was fixed which makes him six now. I don't think he would have even known what a human was before coming up from the bush at the back of our property. So it's been a year (almost) since he showed up. Ajax came with him. I can get about two feet from him and he's off like a shot. Hopefully he will learn he is safe here too.

Thank you. He wouldn't let me near him today. That's normal. Culture shock!! I bought hearts and gizzards today so I will be his best friend tomorrow.
