hubby's surgery

Well my DH surgery was today. It went well. no problems really. his blood pressure dropped a bit but other then that all was well. He is home recovering. in a lot of pain but other then that he's still out of it from the drugs .

He had surgery to make a fistula for dialysis. one more step toward that.

i'm just glad this part is done and over with.

Glad your hubby's surgery went well.

Does he start dialysis as soon as he has fully recovered?

I am so happy things are progressing with your hubby. One step at a time.
Be thankful for the drugs, no one needs to be in pain when there can be help, especially with chronic conditions like this.
How is MIL doing? Helping I hope?

Sorry a little personal...

Since he's on dialysis, is he on the list for a new kidney?

Sending lots of good vibes. I hope the pain meds are helping.

that he heals up quickly! Are they still thinking he'll be able to hold off on dialysis till after the holidays?

MWW, so glad to hear his surgery went well. Have they given him anything to help manage his pain?
Hopefully he can make it thru the holidays without having to do dialysis
Hugs to you, and I hope you yourself will be able to find some time to relax and get some rest over the holidays too.

Merry Christmas MWW.

sorry took so long to update its been crazy couple of days!

First off. Hubby's doing well. it was a bit hard the first few days. he can't use the arm at all. They gave him Tylenol with codeine. It took it steadly on thrusday and friday so all he did was sleep really. Saturday he didn't really take it and did ok. he took a couple. we have flipped sides of the bed because i kept bumping his arm. so yea he's sleeping like a baby. i'm having trouble getting use to be on a different side. sigh

Work went insane friday and saturday because we had a snow storm so everyone was like "ahhhhhh buy food" so thats why it took me so long to post again.

it will take two and half to three months for this to mature for dialysis. it all depends on how his kidneys hold up. if they stay at 15% then he will start when his fistula matures.
