Dry Fod Not Exculded

I just called Menu foods and asked if it was possible that dry food was contaminated... The answer was "I have no information on that." Then I asked if it has been excluded?? "No" !!!

They also told me they have no information on the timetable. It could be any foods made at Menu at any time.

Okay, so what I need now from you guys is a list of dry foods not made at Menu plants (is Wellness for sure made at Menu foods???).

Also, I have heard about a way of switching a dog over to a new food using a method of feeding a very small amount of food... any info on this would be appreciated.

Menu Foods told you that the kibble has not been excluded from the contamination? Could you pass this information on to www.petconnection.com so they will look into it.

Wellness kibble is not made at Menu but their canned is.

I use Innova's kibble (Natura) and it is made at their own plant but their kibble is made at Menu Foods South Dakota plant.

When switching food do it gradually over a period of 10 days.

how do you know this?

I know about the 10 day thing, I usually do it over 14 actually, but I'm scared to feed him Wellness for 10 more days.

I received an email from Wellness:

Menu makes some of our canned cat and dog foods; they do not make any dry foods.

We are happy to tell you that we require our facilities to pass an audit by Cook & Thurber, a HUMAN FOOD auditing firm. They have a great website that explains what they do and their strict requirements. They can be found at www.cookandthurber.com.

oh gosh

That is why i am transitioning all my pets off of my nutro kibbles i'm just to worried.

I know DVP natural balance is not part of menu foods, the canidae/felidae aren't either, merrick i believe is another but they only make dry dog food. ..

Solid gold, i believe is also not in anyway related to menu foods.

I really wasn't sure if menu even made any dry foods? i thought they were mostly wet

thank you for posting that...

kind of worrying that they still don't say what plant it is made at, just "our facilities"

One of my local vets has been seeing problems in cats (I'm not sure about dogs) that are being fed dry Iams and is recommending to stop feeding it. Our pet food store has pulled all Iams wet and dry for cats and dogs off their shelf and will no longer be carrying it.

I think you should start a new thread about this.

Well, it's their own facilities. If you want to know where it is you should email them.
