Why this is leagal is beyond me! It's been illegal in Finland (where I'm originally from) for over 10 years & tail docking for well over 5 years.... If you enter an ear cropped / tailed docked dog into a dog show, the registered owner HAS TO live in a country where it's legal (U.K. for example), otherwise you will be disqualified. So for those idi*ts who'd want to import one to get 'the look', it's not worth it. Besides, the dog wouldn't fair well at all with all the natural ears and tails that pretty much all but the senior dogs have. I love Canada in so many ways, but this is not one of them

100%doglover you and I are in the same boat as far as wanting giants and having little ones but my youngest is now going to be 3(Jan) and oldest 5(Jun). It was a very hard to find one that we fit right with. We found that there are alot more lrg/xtr lrg breed rescues in the states, found acouple closer but no kids under 8yrs, good luck with your future search.

On another note I must be dumber than dumb how do you post the pet link from petfinder? I was on yesterday and it was a REALLY good dog 'picking' day around here

Her ears were cropped by a veterinarian that did a poor job and this cute puppy has to pay the price. Her ears were cut in a long “show crop”, but they rotted during the healing process and half of her ears fell off. The pain that poor Mollie must have endured undergoing this needless cosmetic procedure is unthinkable.
She certianly is a trooper though....she looks like such a happy-go-lucky girl

Thanks! I'm sure it's not going to be easy.... You just have to be that much more careful for the kids & the dog's sake too. I can undertsand rescues generally being very careful about adopting to people with kids, but hopefully there will be a good fit out there for us! Having a pup with young kids would be a lot of work, not to mention wanting to go the rescue route for obviuos reasons to begin with!

Well, all our gang are tested with 3 and 4 year olds so they are pretty well safe for kids. If I won't put em in my house with my girls then it's a no go for kids at all. BMD's rock of course and I have a senior pair coming in this week, probably thursday... sigh..

And yes, Tyson would be perfect for jiorji!

Why is her time almost up? How can they put her down instead of letting her go home with you?

why later? He's coming from Teddy- BMD wouldn't steer you wrong. She wouldn't put he wasn't a barker on the thing when he's really a barker. See, this part:

later because on wednesday i'm at school from 12 to 9 pm. i wouldn't be able to come in between classes that day to take the doggy out.

He's really cute though. He looks like a big puppy, I wonder if he really is 14 months

Um... Teddy's is a really good rescue. If she says he's 14 months, most likely that's the best guess.

You can't get a dog walker for that one day a week? Some are like $10 for a half hour pee break.

Me having other pets....I did e-mail the foster with questions and help if needed.I did beg them to NOT PUT HER DOWN ! If Clara has problem with other pets,I could still find her a foster without pets.

I don't get why they'd put her down, when you're so willing to help her out
