EVO Venison

I've been trying to give the gang venison, since they were starting to turn their noses up a little at the chicken.

So far, Vlad and Maks like it. Oksana is not a big fan, and Kiska and Czari could go either way.

I found that mixing half chicken and half venison is a combination everybody is quite fond of.

Can you guys tell me if it's okay to mix chicken and venison? I'm not sure if mixing proteins is okay.

I don't see a problem with it. My cats get a combination of what ever Instinct is open and homemade raw (combination of pork and chicken). Their fav Instinct is venison, BTW.

Thanks guys. I figured it was all protein so why not? But, I wanted to ask what everyone else did. You all have been feeding cats and dogs too, longer than me.

California Natural has the venison and brown rice. My cats are okay with it. I don't care for feeding my cats red meat.. i seem to notice the smell more for anything like beef or venison.

I want to stay away from any grains, but I have noticed a significant change in the smell of Czari's poop. She's the one with the most toxic ones, and it doesn't seem so bad since I've been giving them some venison.

My cats don't really like any of the evo that isn't the cat & kitten. I tried all the other flavors at some point or another and they've always been kinda annoyed by them. So now I just use the big cans of Cal. Nat. to give them something other then the cat & kitten.

A couple other companies do have venison canned... I think Instinct was mentioned... It is a great alternative meat for animals with allergies. It's quite pricey though!

I know Nutro used to carry venison at one time , but i stopped buying it after it had been recalled. I dont know if they still make it or not. I liked nutro because it had some different items, like beef and egg. But i wont buy it again.

I've actually have success with this. Everyone is eating it with no problem, even Oksana, who is very picky. And I've even noticed Czari's poop doesn't smell as toxic as it did!
