Pill pockets

My boyfriend's cat Cleo has to take thyroid pills 2x a day. She doesn't struggle much but the she sure growls a lot and sounds pretty scary when pill time comes. So last night I went looking for something to help, couldn't find one of those syringe type pilling devices but did see these Pill Pocket treats:

I picked up both flavors, Salmon and Chicken, and we tried the Salmon last night - she loves them and eats her pills right up now, no problem, not noticing they are hidden in the treats! Hopefully she won't get bored with the flavors... Anyway, for any of you having trouble pilling your cat, I'd recommend trying these. They are somewhat expensive ($7 a bag at Petsmart) but entirely worth it if your cat seems like it is possessed by a demon while you are sticking your fingers in its mouth trying to get the pill in.

I love pill pockets!!!! They worked wonders with one of my cats. He wolfs down treats without chewing. My other cat is a dainty eater and nibbles her treats, so she nibbled around the pill and then left it

I highly recommend them as well.

on this product. Last time we used them, Gracie ate it very quickly and had no idea we scammed her into taking a pill.

They are a bit pricey but worth it .... unless you have one of the odd cats that doesn't mind you jamming a pill down its throat with your fingers.

Just wanted to say that I found a cost effective way to give pills without shelling out for the pill pockets..

I tried to give pill pockets to my stray Ethel - she would have nothing to do with them..

So for two weeks I struggled with her and got scratched up trying to give her two Tylenol sized pills each day..

Then I decided to try something - took two moist chicken treats, and squeezed them together over the pill - and she ate them immediately!

I only wish I had thought of that about 20 pills ago

You'll save a lot of cash that way - I heard the pill pockets are pretty expensive

My Rocky did not like the pill-pockets,he also takes pills twice/day for HT.
I mash up one pill in a teaspoon of his canned food and he licks it up,then he gets the rest of the food.
It's worked great so farit's been almost 2 yrs since he started on Tapazole

yep mine dont like pill pockets either... im a pill shooter after she wouldnt take them crushed either.... I know have a $7 bag of pill pockets that i dont use
