Penny needs a new foster- Montreal
Penny needs a new foster home before Christmas because her current foster has a medical condition, has to moving and cannot take Penny with her.
Penny is a beautiful, friendly, quiet, gentle, shorthaired tortoiseshell with white toes and a white bib and huge gold eyes. Penny is very independent and gets along well with the other cats in the house. Penny is a lap cat and buries her face in your arm or shoulder and purrs her heart out when she is picked up and cuddled. Penny appeared in very bad shape out of nowhere one day and a lady who is terrified of cats felt very sorry for her and Penny was so friendly that she started feeding Penny. Eventually she got in touch with Steri-Animal asking for help. When we took Penny to the vet for her first examination they told us that Penny was approximately 8 years of age. The vet did blood tests to find out why Penny was literally a bag of bones and that was when we discovered that Penny’s thyroid levels were so high that they did not register on the scale. We have started treatment (Steri-Animal will pay for the pills) to regulate Penny’s thyroid gland properly. Penny is wonderful about taking her pills and even comes looking for her second pill in the afternoon. This is where you can help Penny. This very sweet, loving cat needs a home where someone is willing to take on the responsibility of giving Penny her medication on a regular basis and taking her to the vet once a month to have her thyroid levels tested until they return to normal and Penny can be put up for adoption. If you can find it in your heart to help Penny, you will be rewarded with the company of a very friendly, affectionate cat and Penny will get a new lease on life. Penny is up to date on all her vaccinations and as far as we can tell she has been spayed. Born in 2001 (approximately). This pet is already house trained. Please contact me if you or anyone you know is interested.
