Great pic! I just love birds... though I am quite rusty on identification as I don't really bird watch anymore. It might be a flycatcher of some kind, not sure.

It sure does look like a warbler! Were there any wing bars? What color was the back? (hazel loves warblers )

Hazel last year I caught a bird just like that one! It ran into our building at work...so that it did not become a falcon lunch I placed it in a box and took it to the SPCA..I had never seen such a bird and thought it was some poor kids love bird or something..So I take a drive up to the SPCA and the women opened the box and started laughing! I said whats so funny? she says thats a wild bird! I said what is it? she said a warbler! But she said dont worry we will keep it overnight for observation and release it in the morning!

Thought it was funny! It was sooo cute!

Very nondescript. You would find a difficult one to ID.

It's a female. Probably either of the yellow or orange-crowned variety. Possibly (though not likely) Nashville. There might be other possibilities (I'm not too familiar with all of the western warblers), but I'd put my money on the first two.

I'm going to dissent - I think it's a "Pacific-slope Flycatcher"

What Bird <--- great bird ID site !

No wing bars, though. They would be pretty distinct on a flycatcher.

That is a nice site!

Ah - you're very right. The wing bars were lost on me apparently.

Okay - forget the flycatcher idea all together.

I looked up the Orange Crowned warbler though, and that looks like a close match.
