Exclamation Odd Tear in Skin Around Neck

Hi.

My chow chow mix, age 12ish, has this odd skin tear or cut where her collar use to be. During the process of me grooming her, I noticed this.

The tear when stretched gently opens and it is like a skin pocket maybe the size of a nickel if it were totally spread [which I did not do as I was worried it might tear larger and hurt her]. No blood is coming out, but blood vessels can be seen.

She seemed to be fine, no pain, no blood, etc. I was worried I had accidentally snipped her as I was trimming her hair but this wound of sorts seems like its been there for a while.

She has not been wearing the collar for months as it was bothering her a bit ago. Not sure if that is connected or not.

Looks like vet time IMO. Your pup will probably need antibiotics as well as a few stitches.

It does look like it's not a brand new wound, the edges appear to be healing over by second intention. In that case stitches cannot be put in? I think. Maybe an old grooming miss snip? Or caught in a sharp piece of fence? Certainly worth asking your Vet about though.
