My hubby needs some prayers pls

Yesterday my hubby fell off the roof of our shed he was putting shingles on. I came home from work to find him screaming for me and laying in the neighbours yard next to our shed. He was moving his limbs and obviously could talk. I immediately called 911 and he was off to the hospital. I spent most of the night there with him, my son came and picked up the dogs who were in the car with me. He broke his collar bone, fractured a couple ribs, partially collapsed one lung but the worst injury is a tear in his aorta. They are not sure yet if it will need surgery to repair or if it will mend itself. They are doing CT scans regularly to monitor it to see if the bleeding is worse or improved. Prayers and good wishes are greatly appreciated. He's been renoing our house for four years and this has always been my greatest fear - come home and he's fallen from somewhere and nobody was there. The good news was that a neighbour said he had been walking by just about 20 minutes before I came home and he was on the roof then, so fortunately he wasn't laying there long. I'm very tired today, and have a splitting headache. My son has taken the dogs for the weekend so that's one less thing to worry about. Thanks for your prayers you guys.

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. We both appreciate it. He is mostly sleeping due to the meds for pain they have him on right now, I on the other hand am not sleeping. Tomorrow (Saturday) they plan to operate on his collar bone so long as no emergencies arise. This was news to me when I went back to the hospital after the doggy handover. So far they are leaving the aorta surgery on the back burner to see how it goes. Looks like he'll be in the hospital for a while. He doesn't handle pain well and gets very upset when the nurses want to roll him over to check his back - it hurts so much and he looks at me and begs me with his eyes to tell them to stop, which of course I cannot do. They finally gave him a meal this evening as he hadn't eaten in almost 48 hours, but now he's on no foods or liquids again due to the surgery for tomorrow. I'm so eternally thankful to my son for taking the girls and I don't need to worry about them. So again, thanks all for the thoughts and prayers, I truly do appreciate them and value you all so much for caring. I'm off to bed and hopefully sleep. Will update tomorrow night.

OMG that is a nightmare. Hopefully today's surgery is not too long and complicated and that the aorta mends itself

You are all so kind for your offers of help and support. It truly does mean so much to me. Unfortunately hubby did not get his surgery today, he is waitlisted again for tomorrow it seems. It's not considered an emergency so he has very low priority. But he is being extremely well cared for. Spent all day at the hospital today, he's still in a lot of pain. I am really hoping they do the collar bone surgery tomorrow. I'd like to see that done before I head back to work on Monday, but I'm going to do very short hours at work this week. Fortunately they are very very good to me at work (after 26 years they better be!). The girls will come with me to work as my son will be back at work also. Teri thanks for the offer of help. I will certainly keep it in mind as we aren't so far apart, but I think we've got it covered. My neighbours are all wonderful, one couple came and brought me dinner at the hospital today. Last night they cooked me dinner after I dropped the dogs off to my son. All of my friends here on pets and here at home just rock my world. MWW you are a sweetie you know you hold a very special place in my heart. Phone calls are pretty much out of it right now due to time differences, I get home just far too late and just way to ready to fall into bed, which sounds like a great idea right now. Thanks again for the support. I'll keep you posted. right back at you all.
