City of Montreal hates dogs!!! Aug 20 vote on new by-law

http://news.petpardons.com/montreal-...uthanasia-law/

Please share far and wide. Any one in Montreal, please contact your local city representatives and voice your opinion. I already have plenty of friends who compete with their dogs in various venues saying they will no longer be traveling to Montreal with their dogs due to fear of such draconian and backwards anti-dog law makers.

It is beyond frustrating to live in a city/province with so little regard for dogs (or cats for that matter). The puppy mill capital of North America and offenders receive little or no consequence for the abuse and neglect of their money makers. Then these idiots are free to unilaterally decide who will live and who will die. It is absurd!!!! I am working otherwise would have to go to the protest on the 20th but the people of this city need to speak up and consider what is going on now before voting in any futur municipal election.

The whole thing makes me sick!!!!!

I too am angered by this.

Quebec as a province and Montreal as a city are so progressive on so many levels. It's been this way for decades and I'm proud to live here.

But holy crap are we butt-backward on so many animal related issues. It's disgusting.

The least any one can do is to contact their city council and contact all friends and relatives and ask them to do the same. You don't have to be a radical and go to a protest. Just phone or email your local city rep, it takes 5min.

How Horrible! What if a dog was protecting their owner from another other dog
or a person or the dog was being abused and was defending itself? This law is a crime ! I am going to post this story in a deaf blog I use. We have members from all of the world.

Yup.. I've emailed the mayor's office and spread the word on FB Here's hoping enough of us will have been able to make some kind of dent in this.
