Fat Cat vs. Skinny Cat

Hi Everyone looking for suggestions...I have two cats one is over weight, eats every 5 mins, and is very inactive while the other one is ideal weight very active, and i hardly ever see him eat. I would like to put the overweight one on a diet but im afraid that the little guy wont get the nutrients and amount of food he needs. They both eat the same food out of two bowls that i keep out all day. Any suggestions?

Feed them at different times, first of all.
I was going to make a second of all, but don't feel I should be giving diet advice over the net. i would sy check with your vet on how to make the bigger one lose weight. Sorry.
