Is this normal?
Heres the background.
I have Abby now since she was 3 months, shes not 11. Two weeks ago i rescued 3 kittens, Ive since gave one away. Abby went thru the hating phase, where she meowed, hissed, grumbled and cried. This past week she started throwing up nightly while we were asleep. She gets wet food for dinner every night and has never thrown up. I took away the wet food, and she stopped. Now she has a raspy voice when she meows. Shes since has learned to get along with the two kittens. She plays and pounces and even licks there bottoms. The kittens are now 9 weeks. Is this normal for Abby to have a raspy voice? Is it from throwing up? This is day two of raspy voice, and day three since she's thrown up. Any info would be nice. Rachel- |

No this is not normal and you should take your kitty to the vet.

Absolutely need to get to the vet...sounds like upper respiratory infection...regardless the vet will be able to diagnose for sure! Good Luck and let us know how you make out!

I agree. The arrival of the kittens and her throwing up and raspy voice are coincidental. A rasp can mean many things. Please get her checked asap.

You are not telling us if the kittens came from outside, or did someone give them to you? Usually kittens have ear mites, fleas and worms and they should never be in the same room with your cat. Also adult cats rescued from outside can carry diseases that are contagious to humans. Your cat needs to be seen by a vet. I am not sure what could be wrong. Before rescuing strays it is best to get advise from a vet as to how to be safe.
