Pot for pets a growing trend in Canada, despite veterinarian warnings
Pot for dogs.
Not sure I'm convinced the testing is up to par on this one....plus many other (cheap and proven) pill choices to calm dogs/cats down. Plus they are bound to put on weight after getting the munchies and eating everything in sight. Opinions? http://globalnews.ca/news/3576078/ma...-veterinarian/

Since medical marijuana for pets is such a 'growing trend' and a fast way for sleazeballs to made a fast buck I think pet owners really needs to do their homework and be sure they're buying pets medical marijuana from a reliable source . I guess the only way to be sure pets can't get stoned on the med is for the owners to try it first .

I am so tired of fear based vet medicine, it's not even erring on the side of caution anymore - be afraid. Somehow, THC has become a poison to dogs now.
Reading articles on dogs that have died, seems to be related to edibles - but fail to mention that it was probably chocolate based or unknown. Brownies, cookies, bars etc will cause a vet visit - but combine that with THC... Lots of reading out there showing anecdotal evidence from owners that dealt with it first hand - dogs consuming large amounts of THC and sleeping it off while the owner monitors. |

Here's an article regarding medical cannabis that I found in Feline Wellness section of Animal Wellness magazine and found it very informative on the new research being done with cannabis products for cats. I expect it would apply to dogs as well. I think it's worth the read.
