Kitty Cat Treats

I made this for a friend's cats last year for christmas.

3/4 c. whole wheat flour
1/4 c. skim milk powder
2 tbsp. soy flour
1 tbsp wheat germ
1/2 tsp catnip

Combine above ingredients in a bowl and set aside

1 large egg
2 tbsp. cod liver oil (smelly...)
1/4 c. water

Beat the egg. Take half of the egg and mix with the above wet ingredients. add to flour mixture. Mix VERY well. If dough is sticky, add a bit more flour.

Dough can either be rolled out and you can use small cookie cutters, or you can role the dough in ropes, and cut off little pieces.

Place the pieces on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes at 350F. Take out of oven and brush with remaining 1/2 egg, and return to over for another 2 minutes. Makes about 180 pieces.

**note..this will make your kitchen smell like cod liver oil**

If the treats are too hard for your cat, put them in a container with a peice of bread and they will soften up in a few hours.
