Orijen food and Gas?

I've read a few comments from people saying their dogs are rather smelly on the Orijen food. I'm switching my cat from Medi Cal to Orijen now. Is this common in cats too? How about the litter box? Should I expect changes there? I may need to pick up a few air fresheners

Any food transition has the potential to cause intestinal "issues" in cats as they adjust to new ingredients. This usually goes away after a bit of time. One thing that sometimes helps is adding probiotics to the food.

I know that stinkiness isn't pleasant to have to deal with, but please don't use air freshners around cats. They're too toxic for their wee little bodies to handle. Just scoop the poop right away and open a couple windows.

Do you plan to feed your cat any canned at all? Male cats are so very prone to urinary tract issues if they only eat dry food.

My dog's been on Orijen since I got him in April and gas has never been a problem. I guess every dog is different so maybe it's a problem for some.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't plan to add canned food, as he has been on dry since a baby and prefers it. I know now it may be the best thing to do though, and intoduce it to him. He does love the Origen, and we had tried lots of other quality brands he wouldn't touch.
