Unhappy Losing my Apartment looking for "homeless shelter' for cats

Anyone know of any services that are the pet equivilent of a homeless shelter for pets that people don't want to give up fully while the have to spend some time in a shelter...

I am losing my apartment because of rent issues and have to go into a shelter for a few weeks while I transition to a new home I do not want to give up a member of my family.

Bella has been with us for over 5 years we adopted her during a better time from Toronto pet rescue as a new born. She was discovered days before abandoned with her litter in a subway station.

To give her up would be devastating to me I suffer from Bi Polar Disorder, Borderline Personalty Disorder and Depression and she has been one of my only comfort at times.

Thanks for any help you can suggest!

Damien

Do you have friends or family that could keep her for you while you transition to your new home?

AN ACO in my city would take care of people pets if they had no one to help them out. You could try that.

what's ACO again barkingdog?

Maybe extend your reach a bit DamienT; ask your facebook friends, or friends of friends if they can help.

Animal Control Officer , we had a real neat one in my city and the mayor fired her. The ACO could care of an older woman cat when she was not able to . I thought that was very nice .

Here is a location in Southern Ontario but there is a cost associated with it. Maybe you could arrange a better price depending on the duration of the stay.

You could also contact your vet and see if they have boarding available as some vets do. You could explain your situation and see if they can offer you any other locations??

Good Luck

Maybe you could contact Seer Farms in New Jersey to see if they know of any similar organizations closer to you? http://www.seerfarms.org/mission.php

Good luck!
