Cyberkitten, the other Siamese mom with the blind eye IS our cat. We have no foster homes, so she and her kittens are boarding at our vet.
This is the one we are discussing, right? I just sent you a new PM. |

Hi,
Yes it is! Thanks. I was reading the Board and being a newbie here, got confused. So sorry!!! I just discovered a web site in Manitoba that is a Siamese Rescue. I wrote them an email about perhaps starting a Meezer Express here. Their site is here: http://www.rescuesiamese.com/ Thanks again!!!! CyberKitten |

Looking for a young female...Niagara area!
Thought I would drop a note on this thread...
I'm looking for a young adult female cat, that is good with dogs and kids. I miss my old boy. The dogs have ALWAYS had cats around...very cat friendly. I would love to have a Siamese, but would take a mix...i just love "pointed" cats...beautiful animals! I feel the same...i've tried the pound, but they don't know the history and temperaments of the animals there, and am really really wanting an indoor cat...as we don't live in an area suited for outdoor kitties! With 3 kids, its hard to guard the door. My kids are very gentle, have been brought up with animals ALL their lives...dogs & cats (and two lizards, too). All my dogs & cats have been rescues in some form or fashion As i said in the other thread, i thought i'd be ok about not having a cat..but its just not right without one! Something is def. missing! I hope to hear from someone about a kittie that needs a loving home |

Deanna,
Have you tried any of the Siamese rescue groups? Siameserescue.org has a Meezer Express where they will attempt to get a Siamese to you. I was thinking of adopting one there but it is a US based operation and then I found the Manitoba operation. Currently, though, I am working on trying to adopt Mama Siamese. (The airfare is the biggest issue at the moment but there is a direct flight from Montreal to where I live so she could be in my arms in just over an hour). Good luck in your search. Siamese are wonderful critters, regal and vocal and oh so smart!! Cheers, CyberKitten |

About Siamese cats - I had never known one or even seen one up close until I fostered Suki and Mei. I had heard negative things about them, and was prepared for horribly noisy, snarky animals.
I was so surprised to find them to be very very sweet, gentle, affectionate and SMART! I just fell in love with them and would have LOVED to have kept both of them. Suki does have a peculiar cry, and sounds very much like a baby crying, but the only time she yowled a lot was when she first came here and was frightened and had just lost all her babies. She also did not like being alone, and would cry when I left her. She loved being fussed over and talked to, and was adorable in every way! And of course, her beauty didn't hurt either. |

Hi Lucky,
Yes, Siamese are incredibly smart!! That is one of the reasons they can get into trouble. They need human companions who will make time for them and give them much support. They are very loyal and get lonesome quickly and their intelligence leads them to find ingenious ways to gain attention. They get very attached to people. If you've read any of the Lillian Jackson Braun books with the Siamese Yum Yum and Koko, she describes many of their characteristics. And of course who cannot forget DC in That Darn Cat! My sister has two Siamese and they like to follow you around and speak to you. They of course are certain you understand them and tell you in no uncertain terms when you get it wrong, lol I think that is one reason they are such a popular breed. They are sweet, lovable and very very intelligent!! Cheers, CyberKitten |
