Hagen Cat Condo's/Scratching posts.

If anyone has the opportunity to purchase the cat condo's or scratching posts made by Hagen. Please consider them. They have unfortunately been discontinued so if you do see one, give it a shot, especially if you can get a deal on it. They are still pricey, but built like a tank and will last a long long time. Our upstairs one has been in service now for about 4 years with no signs of slowing down.

We have two. One which is about 6ft tall and is located in our front hall. It is a 3 tiered unit with a cat house, 2 platforms and a pivoting bed at the very top. All uprights are wrapped in sisal rope. The kids just love it! We have 7 fur kids and everyone of them use it daily. We have replaced over 300ft. of sisal over time and are overdue to wrap the uprights again. The cost for this one was just over $400, but well worth it both in entertainment for us and the kids as well as providing them with great opportunities to stretch and scratch, play and sleep.

Our 2nd one is located downstairs in the computer room/family room. It is also multi tiers with a round cat house at the top. We have had this for less than a year and there are no signs of wear even though it is used daily as well. Just to give an idea of size, we had to take the top off to fit it into the basement. It was about 9ft tall overall. The base is 3ft X 3ft and about 1 1/2 inches thick.

I will try to take some pictures shortly to give an idea these monsters.

Again. If you can find them, they are in my opinion far superior to what is available at many of the chain stores. You get what you pay for and in this case, you get an awful lot of cat condo.

Our local pet store has a few still available. If anyone would like their contact info, please let me know and I will be happy to pass it along.

Bill
