What do I do with the loose poo smear on the grass?
Finally, the snow melted....Now we face a new problem: with the snow it was easy to scoop up the poo no matter how loose it is; now without the snow and when my dog gets loose poo I can't pick all of them, there is always some left on the grass of my backyard.....I don't want those on my grass 'cuz she will roll on it later.....yuks! Any ideas? Thank you!

Generally, if there is a mess that we can't get up entirely, we'll hose it into the grass. If some organism is causing the diarrhea, a mild bleach solution can be used to disinfect the area, but it may damage your grass.

Hi, thank you! That was fast!
Sorry, could you explain what "hose in the grass" mean? English is not my first language so I am not sure what you mean by it. Does it mean dig the grass up? |

That just means spray the poo with water until it washes away into the grass.

I see....Thank you! But sometimes it's early in the morning, like this morning, I had to go to work so I had to leave whatever left there on the grass and I am sure when I got home the spot will be hard to find.....

You can always wake up earlier so you'll have enough time .
Are their stools always loose?

As for finding the messy spots once they've dried: Do they have Digger's Hotline (the public service that comes out to mark phone/electric/gas/etc. lines so you can dig safely around them) in your area? We find those little flags they use to mark the utility lines to be extremely useful in just this situation. Even if you don't have Diggers' Hotline come out, there's probably someone in your neighborhood who'll have a project going on this summer--and most people are happy to get rid of the markers afterward if you ask. (Just don't pull them up before the project is done! ) We have a small supply of the flags in the yard and if it's too dark to do the cleanup right away, we just mark it with one of the flags.

Yep, hitting the spot with the water hose on full works the best in my experience. In a pinch you can keep a full (wand style) watering container around to use instead and that works pretty well .
