Uggs

Anyone here own a pair of uggs or the knock off uggs? How are they for winter. When they first came out, I hated them, now they have grown on me. Expecially since I hear that they are the warmest boot and very comfortably boot people have even worn.

I received a pair of knock offs for a Christmas gift---waste of money! Knock offs are no comparison to the real deal!

Are they water repellent? The ones I see around here have suede outers .

I bought a pair of mens Sorels (they come up higher on the calf) about 10 years ago and they're still my favorite.

I've only ever seen uggs in suede. I work at a ski hill. Handful of the female employees have them. They get salt stained and nasty.. Great to look pretty apres ski.. not so great for daily life I don't think.. but We have to go to work no matter how nasty it is out..

I have sorels too. Lot of the lift staff wears them and swears by them.

I live in my Merrell boots. They're more like sheepskin lined leather runners. I don't waterproof them, but you could. They last longer than Uggs do too.
My favourites are Oslo, Prevoz and Encore (the ones I currently have). I wear 'm in winter, on summer hikes in the woods or field, for rocky beach walks, and everything else. They beat the Uggs I had years ago hands-down for comfort, style, warmth and practicality.

I've got a light blue pair of UGGs, and mine suck! Just walking in them, the back of the boot has absolutley no support and gives underneath my heel, so it essentially looks like I am walking on the back of the boot instead of the sole. And they're really salt-stained now too, though mine are blue so you can't really tell unless you get close.

They look cute if I am just standing there though and not walking. Oh and they are soooooooooooooooooooooo warm to boot.

UGGS are short for UGLY...and most of the people I have seen wearing them can't seem to pick their feet up when they walk, so they must be a heavy boot...

I bought a new pair of Sorels this year...my old ones finally wore out...actually got too close to a fire pit and the rubber melted

I have fancy boots for those elusive dates I keep hoping to go on, but for the most part I wear my hikers or Sorels most of the winter and love them!

and just might have to buy them. How long do they ususally last? How many winters can you get out of them.

I got about 8 winters out of mine...changed the liners twice...would still have them if that silly fire thing didn't happen

I bought a pair they are only good in dry weather and they stretch out and you walk like a slob. I personally think they are a waste of money for our winters. If you do not care the best warmest and driest boots are sorrels

I have to agree, Sorrels are the best in my opinion. I have had the same pair now for 12 years. They are no longer the nice white they were when I got them, and I've changed the liners every couple years. They are the warmest most comfortable boot I have. I'm thinking it's time for a new pair this year, since I've pretty much walked the treads off and they look pretty gross, I've tried washing the uppers with a mild bleach solution, turned them a faded pee stain color
