Lack of Exercise on Friday!

Wow - did we have a wind storm on Friday! 10 hours of gale force winds that knocked out power, flattened a marina, blew trees down onto houses, vehicles or whatever. In general it was a scary time and it was the first time in their lives that my dogs and I did not get out for an outing in the morning!

Amber and I went out for a 20-minute walk during one brief lull in the winds - that picked up again before we got home so we both got absolutely soaked. Bobby had about 10 minutes outing.

I have to admit that I was amazed at how good they were with the lack of exercise! Yesterday morning we did get out and Amber was so funny - we went into an area being developed so it's full of mud and sticks and water - she was into every mud hole, every water hole and tried to carry every stick!

Hopefully that is the end of the wind at least for a while!

And we don't get any pictures of this marvel at work picking up sticks and soaking up waterholes? Geez, thought you knew better!!!
I saw on the news how bad you guys had it out there. Hope things are getting better.

That sounds pretty scary! I hate wind storms

Sounds like Amber really enjoyed the aftermath, though

Nope - no damage on my property but I have to admit, I was watching my 80 ft. Western Red Cedar tree pretty carefully

Yup - no power from 6:30 pm Fri to 2 pm Saturday. Others were much worse off though - at least I had my dinner cooked and eaten before it went out - but Tim Hortens did well by me on Saturday One poor fellow had walked out on a pier - and couldn't get back - the Coast Guard had to rescue him...

Much nicer day today - but point taken - next time we go out in the new development area, I'll take my camera. We can only go when they aren't working so we'll see what I can do..

We're not to fussy either ... we can have pics taken just about anywhere as long as Amber and Bobby are present .

That really was quite the storm we had . We didn't lose power although it threatened a bit. It takes a lot for us to lose power in North Van as most of our lines are underground. Glad you survived okay .

Good thing the dogs were alright with the relative inactivity were they watching out the windows?

Yes it's been too long since we've seen Amber & Bobby

The 90-100 k/hr wind also caused BC Ferries to shut down the Horsebay terminal for most of Fri morning, afternnon & night as the waves were too high. I heard one of the early ferry runs that did make it took at least an hour longer than normal. The ferries out at Tsawwassen were apparently rocking pretty good too but they managed to keep them running.

Stanley Park & the Lions Gate Bridge were also closed for fear of falling trees
