Winter Scenes

A few things around here as we gravitate through winter . . .

Below, if I were you, I'd start running . . . . . . Ruby leads Pete on a chase on a very cold, minus 25 Celcius afternoon at their home in the country.

Below, Pete jumps in surprise as Ruby ambushes him . . .

Below, Ruby, a winter portrait.

Below, Ruby on a hoar-frost encrusted day

Below, Pete listens for mice under the snow at his home . . . .

more below . . . . .

Below, Ruby up high with the prairie stretching out below her . . . . . interestingly, a few skyscrapers in Calgary are visible on the horizon, to the left of Ruby's head, even though they're about 100 km away.

Ruby in the wind . . .

Pete leads the way while Ruby watches his six.

Hope everyone had a great holiday season.

Best wishes.

Thank you Rick C for these wonderful photos of your two furkids and the countryside.

What a great thing that you were able to find two Goldens who got along with each other so well. Happy New Year to you and yours.

Better than ever, Rick. It's a joy to view your photo's. Particularly like the second and 4th photo's, though they're all excellent. Goldens are like red cattle dogs, the colour looks so lovely against a snowy background.

A few more . . . .

Ruby, on a very windy and frozen Barrier Lake, west of Calgary . . .

Some groaning and cracking sounds as the persistent wind pushed stressed ice up against the shore . . .

Walking a shoreline swept clear of snow . . . . this road goes to Nakiska. The lines in the picture are some power lines.
