The Adam Sandler movie about a guy whose life sucks anal, and creepy Christopher Walken gives him a universal remote that he can "control" his universe with.

By the time the end comes, you are soooo hoping it's a predictable hollywood ending...

All in all, a good, lightish movie about what really matters in life.

we saw that last night. I hated it. there was not one woman role that wasn't sexualized... all of the business people, even in the 'future' were men; the only role in the office for women was as sex object secretaries-cum-sluts. Even the final turning point for the main character was that he was missing out on the sex with his ever so patient wifey. son takes over the business, daughter becomes sex object in her own right even in her fathers eyes. BLEAH. too bad it was a dream and he didn't die on the road imo. I was wishing I had a remote control to push STOP on that movie. AND I can't believe that you're not mentioning the humping dog throughout the movie, who, in order to appease him, the main character buys him a bitch of another breed to screw. ICK ICK ICK.

Yeah, but the dog he buys ends up being a dude...

I dunno, I didn't look into it that deeply. I mean, ALL the adam sandler movies objectify women. That's what Sandler's all about.

well, i liked the wedding singer, and spanglish. and, just because these movie makers think *all* women take it lying down (pun intended) doesn't mean I do. maybe i am going too deep here, but i think the more that smart women put up with that kind of s*** in the name of good humor, the less likely we'll see that glass ceiling crack. the thing about this movie was that the misogynist message was not only overt (funny) but also very subtle (not funny).

It was your typical Adam Sandler movie, and like Ben Stiller movies, you know what to expect from the movie. Overall rating: *** (out of 5)

Even the "bad" guys have the same name as in other movies (O'doyle? Remember "O'doyle RULES!" from Billy Madison?)

finally got around to watching this last night, needed something reeeaaally light and fluffy... it wasn't bad but it wasn't particularly good either. would have been better if he had died on the road, right then and there! funny about the women as sex objects, talk about going overboard! LOL at least sandler's character admitted to having a "tic tac" sized manhood and oooh the Hoffinator! he he he... classy movie all the way!

I didn't like it at all, mainly because I expected it to be a comedy from the advertisments but they took all the funny parts and put them into the trailers. If I knew better what I was expecting from the start I may have enjoyed it more but I kept waiting for it to get funny which it didn't.

Havent watched it yet... perhaps I may in the next year or so... but... not likely, i didnt like the previews and therefore im not all that interested in seeing the movie. Perhaps when CTV or something airs it I will come back to this thread and state my opinion then.

I liked it. I found it had very funny parts. I also found that it was very predictable, I pretty much knew what the ending was giong to turn out like from the first 15 minutes or so of the movie. But if you liked predictable, than that is good. For something entertaining that you don't have to think too much about, its good

It just aired on TMN and I must agree with Prin, I liked it too.

I thought it had a valuble life lesson. Some people, if given the choice, would definitely use that remote to fast forward though all the bad parts, but also missing the good parts. I would love it to visit the past though.

As for the part with the dog, it was funny for me because I have one stuffed toy that Willow is always humping. Hey, maybe the dogs were fixed, doesn't mean they can't still have fun. Only thing was I would have changed the "they told me at the pet store that it was a female" to "they told me at the shelter that it was a female".

I thought it was alright, not Sandlers best.
I loved the Wedding Singer it was my favorite of all his movies, and I also liked 50 First Dates.

Overall it did have a life lesson, and I give it 3 ***/5
