Mmmmm Smoothie

Very simple, yummy and a refreshing after walking the dog drink.

In blender or similar machine(I bought the betty crocker version of the bullet(as seen on T.V and it works really well):

dump in about a cup frozen strawberries(or raspberries or mixed field berries all frozen), 1 banana cut up and about a cup of unsweetened orange juice.

Blend until smooth, if too thick add more O.J.

I orignaly tried a recipe that called for plain yogurt but found the yougurt made it to tart and therefore had to add sugar, which I really didn't want to add.

I don't measure anything, just tweak with more or less of something to my taste, but hubby even likes it.

It is made in Germany, you know the Germans always make good stuff. You can cut it in half, use one as a bath mat, drain your dishes with the other one, use one as a towel.

Speaking of smoothies....does anyone know of a good recipe that will disguise the taste of a couple of tablespoons of hemp powder supplement? I've tried blueberries and watermelon, but not too gr8!

The smoothies sound good and of course so healthy for you. Although, I can't drink orange juice and was wondering what you could subsitute it with?

NoahGrey, you can use any other juice, really. I have made smoothies with a million different juices. Some of the new carrot & berry juices are quite good. Best use something without a lot of added sugar, though, or the smoothie is tooooo sweet.

My dog, Connor, loves these smoothies too! I've often made ice cubes out of them for him for a summer treat.

Our favorite ingredients are strawberries, banana, and orange juice, with a spoonful of vanilla or strawberry yogurt. I agree with someone's above post - the plain yogurt isn't so good in them!
