Chihuahua breeding

My one year old female was bred by my one and a half year old male this is her first heat what should I do? I don't think she should get pregnant this young.

Chichuahua

I would agree with the others. Take her to the vet right away and ask that she be spayed immediately for her safety.

A year old is far too young... she hasnt even had a chance for health clearances yet. I too would recommend getting her spayed and your little guy neutered. There are enough dogs of many different breeds looking for their forever homes as it is... even chi's.
On petfinder right now there are 3392 chi and chi mixes who are homeless...
Heres some that may be in your area already... are you sure you want to add to this problem?

please consider spaying!

You can either spay her or prepare yourself to lose both her and her puppies. I witnessed first hand a young Chi almost lose her life, and lose both of her puppies, when her owner bred her at too young an age. The vet fought for her for hours, and only just managed to save her.

Please spay her. Pregnancies in small dogs can be very, very dangerous, sometimes fatal. If this is her first heat, she is certainly too young. Please spay her and neuter the male.

The number of healthy dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies that are euthanized (killed) each day in the United States is almost too big for the average person to comprehend. The estimates range from source to source, but mid-ranges are roughly between 6 to 8 million pets euthanized each year. This translates to 16,438 to 21,917 pets euthanized each DAY. Some annual estimates are as high as 12 million. (Figures are from various sources, including, but not limited to: Cornell University, PetSmart Charities, and the Humane Society of the United States.)
