Giving your own Vaccines

Does anyone know how to give shots to your cat? How? Do you live in Montreal?

Also, how would you obtain the vaccine to provide the shot and receive confirmation that you gave the vaccine?

Veterinarian appointments are very expensive, but I want my cat to be healthy.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

In the States, you can order almost any vaccine on the books, but I'm not sure how you'd prove you vaccinated your cat. I suppose if someone inquired about it, you could prove it by running a titer--but that would entail a vet visit and the tests aren't inexpensive, so it might end up just as economical, or moreso, to just have a vet administer the vaccines, especially if the vaccination in question (I'm thinking of the rabies vaccination here) is required by law.

Have you try Googling low cost vets in Montreal , I don't know if have Petco there but they cost less than a vet office does. I wouldn't buy any vaccines for my pet on line I will have no idea how safe it was . You can have a vet assistant give your pet the shot and that will cost less.

IN ONtario I cannot purchase the vaccines on my own, not even with a Rx. My Vet has given/sold me some meds, usually used by Vets only, for me to give but they were not vaccines.

IN places where you may be able to purchase and apply, inject use the vaccine yourself you may find the manufacturer of the vaccine will not warrant/guarantee it unless it is purchased and applied/injected or however it is intended to be used unless done and certified by a Veterinarian.
