Is grain good?

K, so I was in pet value buying a bag of wellness core for a friend, who got a dog, and is feeding ol roy, i hate that food so much that i will actualy buy her the food so her dog doesnt eat it! Anyway, i dont buy my food there, i buy orijen, and soon orijen may be able to produce enough for pet value to carry it yay! I would love that as the only store that has orijen sells bunnies. .
Wow i am having an off topic day. .
K, anyway! I was talking to the owner, and he said he feeds royal canin. . . . Because a rep (yeah. . A rep. . ) told him they are 1 of the few that have a research facility not a lab, and research shows that some grain is better, however why that would be crap grain i dunno, he said his labs cant eat grain free, his pit doesnt care tho. . .

So we had a great talk, and i felt bad saying i dont like that food, he sells it, but also sells better, and worse, and rc is more than the wellness core and other better ones. .

How many think like this? I was kinda surprised. He agreed you cant believe all reps, but this 1 he did. .

Wasn't Royal Canin part of that huge pet food recall a few years back?? That's enough for me not to trust them.

While I am no expert on dog nutrition, I have done some research on cat nutrition and their food does NOT have the best ingredients in it for a carnivore. For this reason, I would also believe that their dog food was not the best either.

As for believing the rep, well, some people are just better con artists than others , maybe this rep was a very good at what he does.

I agree with Luv4himies. If you study the ingredient listing of both Wellness or any grainfree for that matter it is far superior to Royal Canin. Ingredients aside most breeds thrive on grainfree. There is more meat whether chicken, fish etc. Geisha has been on grainfree for a few years now and her coat & energy level are great. Tell the rep to stop reading the company manual and do a little research!!!
