Excited to be here! Hello from Vancouver!

Hello all!

I'm excited to find this forum! There's so much useful information and awesome pictures. I'm a new pet-parent of two adorable adopted kittens. I never knew I could be so intense about cats but I've suddenly become a cat lover!!! Who knew?

Maomao is a tortoiseshell girly (dilute - i think...) and Mukmuk is a runty tabby!! He is so adorable!! The rescue agency deemed him about 12 weeks from the looks of his size, but the vet said by the looks of his teeth, he's about 5.5-6 months!! Oh my... it's time to take him to get altered!! Maomao (approximately 15 weeks) is the most cat-ish cat I've ever seen. She is a Queen through and through, but will be super loving and affectionate when she is mellow. Oh and soooooooo beautiful. Mukmuk isn't beautiful like her, but again, he is so small and such a character that he is totally irresistible

I will definitely share my kitties cuteness in pictures once I figure out how...

Their favorite place to play

Maomao,

Mukmuk,

Maomao and Mukmuk sound beautiful and can't wait to see some snaps of them both.

There are tonnes of cat lovers here and I'm sure you'll find so much useful information (not to mention lots of pictures) to help and enjoy.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures like really soon k?

Hmm...

When I edited my post to add pictures of the kittens and submitted the post, my original post seems to have disappeared... What happened?

From those pics I don't see any tortoiseshell in Maomao but you've got two adorable tabbies They look like they get along very well

Thanks!! I really can't resist them

And thanks so much for fixing the post, marko!

You know, when I googled pictures of tortoiseshell cats, I didn't find many that were like her, so I wasn't sure about the whole tortie description. But there were a few more mixed colored tortie varieties that seemed to fit her coloring. Though the rescue person and tech vet said she is... Do you think her coloring will be more pronounced as she grows older? Does that occur in cats?

It might just be the angle of the pics There is a colour variation called Torbie which is tabby stripes/spots & coloring mixed in with tortie colouring, it usually is fairly apparent though with solid patches of colour especially the black without stripes.
http://www.seregiontica.org/Colors/t...rtietorbie.htm

Occasionally colouring will change in cats - lighten/darken over the years, not often though. Except in the "pointed" breeds ie Siamese, Himalayan, etc
