Switching cats over to wet food, month 1 results
So Amos and Phoebe had their yearly check up today, and it's been almost a month since I have switched over to a good wet food.
Phoebe has lost almost an ounce, not that I was overly worried about her. She was already at 8.6 lbs and only ate wet food anyways. She had a bit of a pot-belly but that is shrinking now, she also has cut down on the amount of hair she sheds and her stinky stinky breath has gone away. So has her amazingly eye-watering stinky poops....even she couldn't take the time to cover them because they would peel the paint off the walls. As for Amos, well the battle continues. He is adamant about his dry kibble and is still on the 23lb mark. I tried just giving him a few kibbles, and he had an all out hissy-fit. Biting, moody, fighting with Phoebe, dish slinging and he even went as far as to pooping on the bed if he didn't get his kibbles. So I have cut his kibbles down to 1/4 cup instead of 3/4 of a cup and so far he is with the program and has cut the nasty behavior. I had more bloodwork done because he looks in a bit of bad shape. His coat on his back is dirty and matted and full of dandruff, and he has been over-grooming all the other parts. The vet said it very well could be stress related because he does have a psychogenetic grooming disorder and I have put him under pressure. So just to be safe and make sure because he is over weight and almost 12, we did more blood work and I will know the results tomorrow. Just wanted to share the semi-good news and say big thanks for all the help. If anyone has any other tricks on how they made the switch, I am all ears. My big fella needs to loose some weight and I would appreciate any advice.

Have you tried to sprinkle the kibble ontop of the canned food (so he gets used to the smell of canned) then over time lightly stick the kibble into the top of the canned food so he has to lick some canned to get the kibble out. I had success doing this with Jasper. I even got him to eat raw by doing this.
