What do you give your dogs ?
I used to give Bufferin to my dogs when they needed it (small injuries , stuff like that) I also loved it for myself , got red of pain and headaches very fast. Since the past years , the pharmacies here didn't carry it anymore. So I would ask them to order me a bottle from time to time. I went today , they can't anymore , the pharmacist did a research for me and just called to say it was "discontinued" , so I can't get Bufferin anymore
she said Bayer's Aspirin , Advil , Motrin , were the same type but , I want to make sure it's also ok for the dogs. So .... any of you used those for your dogs sometimes ? If so , which one ? |

The dog and cat first aid book I have says Aspirin is the choice for dogs rather than Tylenol (A.S.A vs. Aceteminophen if you go with a generic brand rather than brand name). You can get a buffered Aspirin that is easier on the stomach.
Cats in particular should not have Tylenol at all, it is apparently quite toxic to them.

Bayer aspirin here too. I was also told to avoid the acetaminophen and ibuprofen many years ago.

I've given one 325 mg. uncoated aspirin without a problem. All I had, no coated stuff in the house. 67 lb. Lab with cold tail, a once in a blue moon thing, I hope. |

ohhh .... I think I will buy both. If Jack or Sienna ever needs it , they'll get the kid's ones. Nelly and Churchill would need the adult ones.

I've used Traumeel for a few years now and it works wonderfully well. It's a homeopathic pain and anti-inflammatory medication - and it's from Montreal too!
There have been absolutely no side effects from this at all - with the dogs or myself.

I had also been told baby aspirin too. Never had to give anything to the cats yet so have no idea about them.
