We've got kittens!!!

Came home from work just now and Cinnamon Girl has popped 2 of them out so far that I can see. She chose the cat carrier for a nest and piled all the towels up into the doorway of the carrier. I can barely see inside it, so there may be more, I'm not sure. She's still panting hard so I don't think she's done yet. One kitten looks to be black or dark grey and s/he is all fuzzy and cleaned off and nursing, and the other one is orangish (hard to tell in dim light) and still damp, and was rooting around for a nipple when I checked. I'll go back in a bit to make sure things are going smoothly, but I don't want to disturb her too much either. Looks like she's doing a good job on her own, thank goodness!

More updates to follow.......

So far there are 4 for sure. 3 redheads and a dark one. There might actually be 4 redheads, but it's hard to tell where one kitten ends and the other begins. And boy are they squirmy! So cute with their seal-like little bobble heads .

Alright!!!! You must be so relieved that everything is going well! It is a nerve wracking experience to go through. You want to help so badly but know unless mom is showing signs that you shouldn't.
I hope this is it for the sweetie. Four is enough to nurse.

She's done and resting peacefully now with all the kittens eagerly nursing. Such a good momma! I'm still not sure of the final count, but 4 for sure, maybe 5. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a better look. For now, I'm just ecstatic that everything went so well. I was a nervous wreck!

Wonderful news that the birthing went so well for Cinammon.

I am so thankful to you that these innocent little ones and their Mommy had you at a time of need and now stand a chance at a life no longer living feral, but hopefully as someone's furever baby.

maybe plus the champ-Mom

Congratulations for hanging in there with CG. So glad to hear everything went well without complications. I know how nerve wracking it can be. Even after observing and sometimes helping with birthing a hundred plus times, it's always an anxious time. You should definitely take off the top of the carrier and check her and kittens out. Are they all nursing vigoroursly? Check CG several times a day, as she may have retained a placenta, so if you see any kind of vaginal discharge, she should go to the vet (take kitties with her). I would change her bedding. Towels can get bunched up, and sometimes a kitten gets smothered in the process. I've always had good success with a thick wad of newspapers. In this heat it may be more comfortable for her. We're all looking forward to pics! Sounds like you may have 3 red tabby boys and a tortie girl?

It is also very important to weigh the kittens daily to ensure they are gaining about 10 grams a day. That is really the only way to know if they are getting enough milk. I use a digital kitchen scale that I got from Home Sense.

PICS PLEASE

Final kitten tally is 5: 4 orange tabbies and 1 possible torbie (hard to tell for sure just yet).

The kittens are all robust and very healthy looking, with lots of energy. Cinnamon is doing awesome! She's such an amazing mom. She's so conscientious of where her babies are at all times, careful not to step or lie on them, gently moving them when needed. She has a look in her eye that's simply the epitome of peace and love . I've been bringing her breakfast in bed (Wellness Kitten canned) and she's very appreciative.

Hopefully I can get some pics tomorrow while I have the day off work. Right now it's too dark in there and I don't want to use a flash.
