Heidi/Autopsy Report

Hi

FYI, the autopsy report showed that Heidi died of kidney failure induced by the pain drug (Deramax) that she was on after the mast cell tumor surgery.

Wanted you all to know in case your pet is put on this drug.

I am missing her so much; haven't disposed of her toys yet - still tripping over them.

Thank you all for you kind messages.

((HUGS)) Annie!!

Thanks for letting us all know that.

You may want to start another post and just indicate the drug name and the dangers involved with it, it may help others in similar situations.

Thank you so much for keeping us posted on the autopsy.

I know how hard it is to lose a beloved one. Rest assured that you have done everything possible and surround yourself with pictures of your baby!

Thanks. I have posted Deramax on the site.

We (humans) are given a sheet with drug adversities when we get a new one. Why wasn't I given one with the pet med?

Annieap1. Thank's for letting us know about Heidi and her meds.
I also asked my vet this week, why no side-effect descriptions on
pet-meds,after my Rocky suffered, what seem to be seizures and black outs from the anti-anxiety drug Clomipramine.
Luckily it was not fatal and he's back to his normal self, but we should be warned, not only about the benifits, but also any risks of side-effects.
I know you are still mourning the death of little Heidi and getting this kind of news does not make it any easier.
