RIP King

Thank you so much for your response Doggy lover...I truly appreciate it. Christmas was very difficult for me...the first in 14 years without my buddy King...I placed a couple pics of him on the tree, but I still had this feeling of emptiness....mind you, he has only been gone for a few weeks. I am so used to buying him his own stocking and toys for Christmas. I keep his ashes, and his engraved pawprint, along with his framed picture beside my bed, so that he is just a little closer to me each night, and every morning. I know letting him go was the best thing I could do for him, but it was also the most heartbreaking for me....sometimes the best things, are also the hardest in life. RIP King....

I am so sorry for your loss of King, friendlygal. He sounds like a marvelous boy and I know you miss him terribly You were his angel here on earth and now he's your angel watching over you.

King

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for your kind words...you have no idea how much your support, as fellow animal lovers, means to me. He was my best pal for so many years, that I am just devastated...I never thought I would be able to get another dog...partially due to guilt, that I might be replacing my friend, and partially because I can't bare the thought of having to let go of a dog again...but here I am again, opening my heart to another dog... The one thing that has been bothering me, is the memory of being with him at the vets that day. I am soooo glad that I stayed with him during his passing, and I wouldn't have had it any other way, since he always stayed by my side over the years, thu good and bad, however, I just can't get the memory of his passing out of my head....such an awful memory....something I don't want to remember. I also find myself constantly talking about him, for example, 'oh remember king loved to play in the snow', or ' remember king loved playing with that squeaky toy?'....anyhow, i know this is just very new, but i can't wait till' it is all behind me....and my heart heal. they say time heals all, but i am not so sure about that. thank you all once again, you all have such big caring hearts, and i am sooo glad i found u all. ty....

Friendlygal I am so sorry for your loss of King. I just wanted to say that I lost me precious boy in July. Its only been a few shorts months but I still talk about him all the time. Maybe a little less now but always! I think about him everytime I look at his sister who is still with me. I talk to him everyday because he sits overlooking our living room area in the urn. I still cry for him and miss him terriby.

As each day goes by it gets a tiny bit easier. You should feel no guilt in getting another pet when your ready! I am sure King would have it no other way!

Always know you'll find many of us here that have suffered that loss as well and truly understand how you are feeling.

Take care

RIP Sweet King

Ty so much for your lovely post....I had tears in my eyes as I read about your pooches ashes watching over u in the living room...what a lovely gesture. My King is in my bedroom, beside my bed, in his urn, so that I can see him before I go to sleep, and again when I wake up...I think of him all the time, and still talk about him everyday. It is sooo heartbreaking. Anyhow, i can't tell u enough how much i appreciate all the support....ty, and god bless... RIP to both our dear pets...
