♥'s the outdoors!

i have created a monster! albeit a cute lil monster!
i got a wee harness for my kitten, aslan, and took him outside with me and kiila (aslan's big doggie sister) and he loves it!
the second he was outside, it was like he had been outside all his life - no fear! we spent an hour outside this morning chasing butterflies! soooo cute!

now that he is back inside...he has been mewing to go out again! kiila must have felt sorry for her little brother and she brought him his stuffed monkey to play with! ♥

Yep, reminds me of that old song my mom used to sing..."How you gonna keep 'em down on the farm once they have seen Pa-ree". Guess I'm showing my age here!

Aslan on one of his first outdoor adventures!

here's aslan on one of his very first outdoor adventures

he makes me look like a very poor yard keeper - the grass really isn't THAT long...he is just a wee baby ♥

he is very funny with the harness - while i am putting it on in the house, he acts like its the most horrible thing ever! he won't even walk while wearing it in the house - he just falls over. but once you hook the leash up to it and he is outside, he totally forgets about it and has a hoot!

in this pic he was playing with kiila's stuffy bone, and kiila was running over to claim her toy - didnt get kiila in the pic though

aww what a cutie

Will he walk with you where you want on leash like a dog or is he just going his own way?

My grrl Duffy will walk on leash but only if it's where she wants to go

so far, thats what it seems like with him too - he walks nice on the leash, but if he doesn't wanna go a certain way, good luck! perhaps he will get better as he gets older. but for now, he is quite content being on a lead in the back yard with his doggie big sister showing him the ropes of the great outdoors!
kiila is quite protective over him out there too! i occassionally have the odd cat come to visit the dog in the back yard - they would often hang out and chase each other playfully around the yard. NOW when one comes around, she will not let them anywhere near her baby kitten brother! she isnt mean to them, but will chase them away, or cirlce them and herd them away from him - one got too close the other day and she ran right over to the kitten and stood right above him! once the other cat ran off, she laid down right beside him - keeping a close eye on him!
soooo cute!
