bloodshot eye in a dog due to give birth
hi all just a quick one for you my neo mastiff is due to have pups any day now its here first litter, but last night her left eye was all bloodshot and she looked drunk, but 10 mins later she was fine just wanted to know if anyone had had the same problem with her dog

I'd take her to the vet right away, the 'drunken' behaviour suggest maybe a little stroke . I am not a vet so don't want to scare you, but the stress of giving birth on a dog who is unwell might lead to more problems. Please, at least call your vet and tell him/her what happened and then let him/her decide.

I would absolutlely get her to a Vet asap but you should also be in touch with your breeder-mentor to keep them up to speed on her condition.

I agree with the others, a vet visit is needed.
Bad things can happen very fast when a dog goes into labour, so it would be in the dog's (and your) best interest to get her the help she needs now, before it may be too late.
